Angry Birds is a video game franchise created by Finnish computer game developer Rovio Entertainment. Inspired by Crush the Castle,[2] the first game was first released for Apple's iOS in December 2009.[3] As of October 2010, 12 million copies of the game were purchased from Apple's App Store,[4] and then the company started to design versions for other touchscreen-based smartphones, including the Android, Symbian and Windows Phone operating systems. It has since expanded to video game consoles and PCs.



Angry Birds has been praised for its successful combination of addictive gameplay, comical style, and low price. Its popularity led to versions of Angry Birds being created for personal computers and gaming consoles, a market for merchandise featuring its characters, spin-offs and television series based on the franchise, and even long-term plans for a feature film. As of January 2014, there have been over two billion downloads across all platforms and including both regular and special editions,[5][6] as of July 2015 the series reached over three billion downloads,[7] the franchise has become the highest downloaded freemium series of games of all time. The original Angry Birds has been called "one of the most mainstream games out right now",[8] "one of the great runaway hits of 2010",[9] and "the largest mobile app success the world has seen so far".[10] An animated feature film of same name is also in-development with Sony Pictures, and the first sequel, Angry Birds 2 was released on July 30, 2015.



Spiderman is one of the most popular and commercially successful superheroes.[6] As Marvel's flagship character and company mascot, he has appeared in countless forms of media, including several animated and live-action television series, syndicated newspaper comic strips, and in a series of films. In films, Spider-Man has been portrayed by actors Tobey Maguire (2002–2007) and Andrew Garfield (2012–2014),[7] while Tom Holland will take up the role from 2016 in the Marvel Cinematic Universe films franchise. Reeve Carney starred as Spiderman in the 2010 Broadway musical Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark.[8] Spider-Man has been well received as a superhero and comic book character and is usually ranked as one of the greatest comic book characters of all time alongside DC Comics characters such as Superman and Batman.



Doraemon (Japanese: ドラえもん) is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by the manga writing team Fujiko Fujio. The series has also been adapted into a successful anime series and media franchise. The story revolves around a robotic cat named Doraemon, who travels back in time from the 22nd century to aid a pre-teen boy named Nobita Nobi (野比のび太 Nobi Nobita?).



The Doraemon manga series was first published in December 1969 in six different magazines. A total of 1,345 stories were created in the original series, which are published by Shogakukan under the Tentōmushi (てんとう虫?) manga brand, extending to forty-five volumes. The volumes are collected in the Takaoka Central Library in Toyama, Japan, where Fujiko Fujio was born. Turner Broadcasting System bought the rights to the Doraemon anime series in the mid-1980s for a United States English-language release,[3] but canceled it without explanation before broadcasting any episodes. In July 2013 it was announced that the manga would be released digitally in English via the Amazon Kindle e-book service. It is one of the best-selling manga in the world, having sold over 100 million copies.
